Present and Recent Appointments

Full time research associate, Institute of Engineering, National University of Mexico (unam, 1997–present time). Executive Liaison Officer of the Institute of Engineering unam (1998-99). Academic Director of the Centre for Technological Innovation, unam (1994-97). Founder and director of a multidisciplinary master degree programme in Product Development at the Metropolitan University of Mexico (1982-85).

Professional and Lecturing Experience

More than twenty years working in the areas of management of technology and innovation policy. Consultancy projects carried out on policies and management of innovation for UNCTAD, CEPAL, the World Bank, the Science Council of the Presidency of Mexico, NAFIN and PEMEX among others. Organization and lecturing in diverse continuing education courses, bachelor and postgraduate programmes on innovation policy and technology management at academic institutions such as UNAM, El Colegio de México, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Instituto Politécnico Nacional and Manchester Business School, as well as in firms such as PEMEX. Referee for journals such as Research Policy, R&D Management, Science and Public Policy and the Open Management Journal and founding editor of the journal Innovación y Competitividad of the Mexican Association of Research and Technology Development Directors (ADIAT). More than 50 articles and contributions for books published on management of technology and science and innovation policy and participation in more than 70 professional and academic conferences and events in Mexico, Latin America, US and Europe.
